The aim of the initiative is to create incentives for children to go to school regularly and permanently.
Since one of the main factors for the low attendance is the malnutrition of the school children, we have set up school canteens. Children present now receive a free lunch every school day.

SCHOLARSHIPS FUNDED
With our scholarship initiative, we offer ambitious children and teenagers from Honduras the opportunity to continue their education after completing primary school.

Your help is crucial to cover the costs of the scholarships. This support not only enables us to provide ongoing support for our seven current scholarship holders, but also gives us the opportunity to award further scholarships in the coming school year.

Together, we are creating access to secondary education and giving young people a chance for a better future.

IN CONVERSATION: YARITZA TALKS ABOUT HER FIRST YEAR AT SCHOOL AS A SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER

Yaritza (14) lives in a small rural village in Honduras. After successfully completing primary school, Yaritza had no opportunity to continue her education.

For one thing, there is no secondary school in her immediate vicinity. Also, Yaritza's mother lacks the financial means to pay for the necessary school materials, school fees and transportation costs.
A CHANCE FOR EDUCATION
The aim of the TOP Scholarship Intiative is to offer ambitious children and young people from Honduras the opportunity to continue their education after completing primary school.

Since a lack of financial resources is the main reason why children are unable to go to secondary school, the TOP scholarships cover all costs that arise in the course of the school year.
IN THIS WAY WE CAN...
-
further develop their academic skills and abilities
-
enhance their social and emotional intelligence
-
set them up for better employment opportunities
-
increase their chances to find a way out of poverty
-
allow them to be teenagers (rather than working on the family’s farm)
-
encourage them to become leaders of their communities and inspire the next generation
Your donation plays a crucial role in covering the costs of the scholarships. By doing so, you not only support our seven current scholarship holders, but also give us the opportunity to support more young people in the next school year. You can find an overview of the costs of a scholarship here.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN?
THE SCHOLARS
The scholars for 2022 and 2023 were selected based on a number of criteria including their motivation, ambitions for the future and the financial situation of their parents. In order to choose the most suitable scholars, interested children were asked to fill out a short application form. In this form we asked some basic questions such as:
Why do you want to attend a secondary school?
What do you want to do with your secondary education?
What are your goals?
Based on the applications, the following students were awarded scholarships:
